Instructor of Tiny Tots, Combo, Enchanted Doorway, Ballet, Hip Hop in a Box, Beg Jazz, Beg Tap, & Turns & Leaps;
Head of the Junior Program at Academy of Dance.
Jordana received her primary dance training under Merle Sepel at Academy of Dance (AOD), where she was a member of American Pacific Ballet Company (APBC) for 5 years. As a student at AOD, Jordana entered and received high marks in the R.A.D. syllabi and excelled at all 12 levels of the American Academy of Ballet’s Performance Awards.
After graduating from high school, Jordana was granted a fine arts scholarship to the University of Utah, where she furthered her dance education majoring in Modern Dance. During her time there she was lucky enough to perform reconstructions of historical work by Merce Cunningham, Twyla Tharp, Martha Graham, Viola Farber, and Helen Tamiris.
Upon her return to California in 2014, Jordana began teaching dance at AOD, University Synagogue preschool, & at the Montessori Schools in Irvine.
Motivated to continue her dance education; in 2016 Jordana trained & became certified in Rhythm Works Integrative Dance teaching. An exciting state of the art program that combines music, rhythm, & movement into a fun & effective therapy modality based on HipHop dance. She also trained alongside other AOD faculty, and is certified to teach Progressive Ballet Technique (PBT). This innovative program created by Marie Walton Mahon, provides a new medium for students to understand the depth of training muscle memory in achieving their personal best in classical ballet. In 2017, she participated in various teaching workshops, and successfully completed the first level of certification at Dance Teacher University through the University of Nevada Las Vegas. She has also completed her Early Childhood Credentials this year, through Theoria Technical College.
She loves the family feel & love found here at Academy of Dance, & looks forward to many more years of teaching and being a part of the AOD family.
